Sruby is located in the region (state) of East Bohemia where Pardubice is the capital city.

Here is a closer look at the state of eastern bohemia. If you look closely, you can see an outline of the region. Note the city of Chrudim.

On my second trip to The Czech Republic in 1998, I didn't know any of this information. I thought we were from Chrudim (pronounced crew-deem), but I deduced that after no luck finding Bezdicek's in the cemetary, they must have meant Chrudim as the county, because Chrudim is also the name of the county.

Here you can see cities to the left called Vysoke Myto (pronounced vee-so-key me-tow) and Chocen (pronounced hoats-zen). We have lineage in these two areas.

In fact, Petr's father is a doctor in Chocen and is the one who basically took the time to research the lineage for us. To learn more about Vysoke Myto click here. To learn more about Chocen click here

I also traveled to Vysoke Myto looking for Bezdiceks. My friend from Prague and I found a house, but nobody was home. It was disappointing at the time, but as you know, I was lucky to get that and more in the end.

Here finally you can see Sruby. It is just a little town. No dedicated sites for Sruby.
