Here is a closer look at the state of eastern bohemia.
If you look closely, you can see an outline of the region. Note the city
of Chrudim. On my second trip to The Czech Republic in 1998, I didn't know any of
this information. I thought we were from Chrudim (pronounced crew-deem),
but I deduced that after no luck finding Bezdicek's in the cemetary, they
must have meant Chrudim as the county, because Chrudim is also the name
of the county. |

Here you can see cities to the left called Vysoke Myto
(pronounced vee-so-key me-tow) and Chocen (pronounced hoats-zen). We have
lineage in these two areas. I also traveled to Vysoke Myto looking for Bezdiceks. My friend from
Prague and I found a house, but nobody was home. It was disappointing
at the time, but as you know, I was lucky to get that and more in the
end. |
